I was targeted by a sophisticated cryptocurrency and identity theft scam via the website beastcasino.cc and the X (Twitter) handle BeastStakes. The scammers used a fraudulent 'Mr. Beast' promotion to solicit a $500 cryptocurrency deposit. As part of a deceptive 'verification' process, they utilized a third-party Onfido SDK link to harvest my government-issued driver's license and Social Security Number. I am reporting this as both a financial loss and a severe compromise of personally identifiable information (PII) for the purpose of potential synthetic identity fraud and unauthorized account openings.
